FORT MYERS, Florida, June 27, 2022 -- Cigent® Technology, the world leader and pioneer in self-defending storage and Zero-Trust data security, today announced the promotion of Tom Ricoy to Chief Revenue Officer. He succeeds co-founder Steve Nicol in the company's top sales role, while Nicol will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer.

Tom Ricoy has 30 years of broad industry experience. Before Cigent, Tom was responsible for Dell commercial PC data and endpoint security. At Dell, his team launched BIOS malware/IoA detection, in-transit supply chain security, EDRM, and the first NGAV EPP Suite. He has established global alliances with IT and cyber security leaders and worked with federal agencies to deploy new solutions to improve national security. Tom has a BS in Computer Programming Technology (Summa cum laude) from Southwestern College.

Before co-founding Cigent, Steve Nicol has worked as a sales and marketing executive in several technology companies, including Hewlett-Packard, Western Digital, Systemsoft, and Accela Inc. In 1993 he co-founded Pumatech/Intellisync with Brad Rowe and helped lead the company through a successful IPO in 1996. Steve has a BA from Princeton.
